Instructions how to cook garlic shrimp pasta recipe

garlic shrimp pasta recipe Garlic Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients to serve 4.
350g / 12oz favorite pasta.
50g / 2oz butter.
2 garlic cloves, crushed / minced.
Juice and finely grated *zest of 1 lemon. (*zest of lemon is outer skin).
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley.
450g / 1lb raw shrimp shelled.
Freshly ground black pepper.

Instructions
Select your preferred past type. Bow ties, conchiglie (shells), rings, rigatoni (tubes), elbow macaroni, wheels, tagliatelle (flat strips) spaghetti, fusilli (twists) or others.

In a large saucepan, bring water to boil and cook for the time recommend by the manufacturer to al dente (firm but not hard in the middle). Remember larger shapes will take longer to cook than tiny shapes. Usually cooking time will be between 6 and 10 minutes.

To prepare the sauce, while pasta is cooking, melt butter in low heat frying pan, add minced garlic for 2 minutes, followed by lemon juice and zest. Let these ingredients cook for about 30 seconds or reduced by about half. Or use you favorite sauce instead of the lemon juice and lemon zest. (see note below).

Add the raw shrimp and parsley into the mixture. Turn up the heat to medium and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep stirring the shrimps so that they will be cooked through without burning. (They will turn pink when fully cooked through). At this point season with the black pepper.

Finally, drain the pasta and add to the frying pan. Mix together until the pasta is well covered with the garlic butter sauce and shrimps mixed in.

You are now ready to serve your garlic shrimp pasta recipe to your family or guests.

* Please note sauce selection
This recipe's lemony sauce can be substituted with just about any other sauce. Some people may prefer basil pesto or a tomato sauce. They all work well in this recipe. For variety, use a different sauce each time.
