Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe
How to impress your friends and make the tastiest chocolate mousse recipe.
Ingredients (To serve 6)
200g milk cooking chocolate 4 eggs 300 ml thick cream (1 1/3 cup) 1 oz (2 tbl spoon) Liqueur or spirits (Choose your favorite. Cognac, baily's, coffee cream, sherry, etc) 1/2 oz brown sugar (1 tbl spoon) or equivalent stevia. Read more about cooking with stevia.1 oz butter (2 tbl spoon)
Instructions
Melt chocolate and butter on low heat, continually stirring if applying direct heat. (Can leave if simmering over water).
Once melted, add your favorite liqueur and mix in.
Add egg yolks (without whites) and stir in well. Place in fridge to allow to cool.
In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites to soft peaks and then add and mix in the sugar.
When chocolate mixture has cooled to room temperature, take out of fridge and gently fold in egg whites.
Whip thickened cream until soft peaks. Do not over-whip.
Gently fold whipped cream into chocolate mixture until no streaks remain. Mixture should look consistent color throughout.
Place chocolate mousse back in fridge for at least 30 minutes.Or serve in individual bowls and then place in fridge.
Serve with a little whipped cream on top.
